Is there an AGK2 tier 1 target?

Hi I know there is an AGK2 tier 2 target, but is there one for AGK2 tier 1? At least the translator part?

You mean that CX translates CX code to AGK BASIC and then run it through the AGK Build chain? If that is the question then the answer is no. There is none. And I fail to see the advantage besides that you don't need to set up Visual Studio Code.

One advantage I can think of is that we can use the AGK Player on mobile. It is extremely useful for rapid testing. When it works. But lately broadcasting did not work for one reason or an other. It was often broken.

In Studio we could also use the Visual Editor tools with Tier1. But again, lately it was a not so polished experience.

Would that be even possible to translate CX classes and objects in to Tier1? I know there are Types in Tier1 but it does not support object methods and inheritance.

The way it could maybe work is working with arrays of “object types” to handle their data and with name mangled functions that take in the array index of an object. But for sure a lot of work and for how many users here? Maybe 2 or 3? Paul already said he wants to drop AGK 2 for “support” reasons. And they barely make any money with Studio I imagine. I wouldn’t be surprised if they drop AGK Studio as well.
Lastly I am not sure if such a move would be legal.

I believe the only reason they keep it alive is their Driving Theory Test app built with AGK. I am surprised they continue to share updates at all, they didn't do it with DarkBasic Pro. I remember when Lee mentioned they have a more up to date internal version of DBP they used to develop FPSC X10 but they have never released it to the public.

I can't really tell why TGC is not transitioning to 3rd party tech for their Driving Theory Test app since the app is nothing but videos, text and buttons. Doesn't really need a game engine.
