Color Chase is a game about reaction, where your only goal is to watch few dots slowly turning colourful and hitting the one with the odd colour.

It's not 100% complete yet. But I'd like to invite you to play the prototype available on
http://games.holzchopf.ch/colorchase/

What's missing? More fancy animations, something like an in-game-tutorial and also some sort of Cerberus promo ;) I'm primarily writing it for android - but as long I'm not done you'll have to stick to the html5 version.

Well done! I also have a moving color time bar in my color game but going in an opposite direction :)

Cool game. I liked the annoying (biologicallly) eyes thinking the same colour has changed because they haven't adjusted yet. Makes the game harder. :)

Yes! So I'm not the only one feeling like that =) This is the exact reason why I implemented it like that. Thank you!

It's online now!

Get Color Chase in the Play Store

I had to add some new features before I could upload it: There's now a pause mode that activates itself when the application is suspended or when the back button is pressed. Also, pressing the back button in menu, pause or game over screen will minimize the app.

Aaaand: I added lives! For every 200 score you make in a row without a miss, you gain one extra life. Lives can be used to "revive" once the game is over, which resets game speeds and stuff but not score (of course). And progress gets stored when you leave the game.

I hope you'll enjoy it ;)

Nice game! Only tried the html5 version. I think would enjoy it even more if it looked more psychedelic (if the circles were moving following some patterns or something like that) but maybe it would alter the gameplay...

Thank you! Well yeah I guess this would alter the gameplay to much. Maybe for bonus / intermediate levels or so but definitely not in normal mode. But for now I'm going to concentrate on other stuff and do plan to add more features.

Are there sound effects on Android? Along with a few more in game animations, maybe some minimal techno/new age/... sounds would make the game even more immersive.
+ what if the score had something to do with the player's speed?
I like that game though and look forward to play it on some tactile device.

I deliberately didn't put any sound effects or music, because I hate it when someone in a public place plays a game with sounds coming out of speakers. So if you miss that, say thanks to all the aBEEEP who don't know you can put a pair of BEEEPing headphones in your mobile.

As I said, I'm not going to add new features soon. Maybe sometime, maybe never. But what you state is basically what I would have added: bonus points for being very fast and unlocking bonus levels when hitting very quickly a certain amount of times in a row.
Bonus levels would have different game play (moving dots and finding the one coloured like a reference) and make it easier to gain extra lives. Yeah I'm pretty much teasing right now :p

Cool! I love how it gets harder the longer you play not just because the timer goes faster, but because the color after-images start messing with my head and I stop knowing what's real anymore.
