• Hello everyone,

We're happy to announce that our forum is back online! We needed to take some time off to discuss and decide on how to handle sensitive topics in our community.

The team has posted an in-depth comment regarding a recent incident and our stance on politics and sexuality in our forum. We also added a dedicated paragraph about this in the forum guidelines. This is part of our commitment to maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment for all our users. Your understanding and continued support in building a creative and respectful community are highly appreciated.

    Thank you, the CX Dev-Team

Hi
Im just wondering what other apps you use for game development?
I use the following

GFX
Paintshop Pro 4.12 (its the version I just get on with)
Pixelformer - for bitmap file converisons

Audio
Audacity

What do others use to draw and edit sounds?

Ok, here it goes. And yes, I use them!

Art
Clipstudio Paint (my main 2D tool)
InkScape
Blender (my main 3D tool)

Fonts
Glyph Designer

Tools
TexturePacker
Physicseditor

Audio
FLStudio
Audacity

very interested in other gfx packages.. without showing my age, I think Deluxe Paint IV was nearly perfect (no layers) so interested in tools like that.

thanks for the list, already investigating alternatives to my dated collection ;-)

Audacity
Adobe Audition

A few I have used in the past, but not all.

That's basically all. Of course there are other tools and scripts* e.g. one to pack multiple icon files into one resource file.

* The good thing about being programmer is that you can simply write the tools you miss yourself ;) like the water texture generator - that one even found its way into the big wild world

I probably use others on occasion but these are what I use mainly

Music and sfx
ProTracker and OctaMED (under WinUAE Amiga emulator)
OpenMPT on Windows (can convert MOD/XM/etc to ogg)
sfxr
Audacity

2D Graphics
DPaint IV and PPaint (under WinUAE)
ArtBoard on mobile
GIMP
Paint (!)

Maps
Mappy

3D Graphics (although so far I've only made 2d sprites using it)
Anim8or

Coding
Cerberus-X :)
Blitzplus
Blitz Basic 2.1 (under WinUAE)

Woah an Octamed user! :)

OctaMED is great but nowadays I don't do much tracking except occasionally OpenMPT on MacOS, using win emulation.
Garageband

TVPaint
Krita

Blender
Fusion 360
