Just re-opened my beautiful project I am working on and BAM! The source code file is blank, showing 0s in HEX view. The last git commit I did is a week old. That reminds me of this rule of

ALWAYS COMMITTING THE CODE TO A REMOTE REPOSITORY!!!!

DAMN!!!

@muruba: I would do a check that your hard drive isn't starting to fail.
I usually solve such problems by not relying on just the one backup method.

Thanks, will need to check. My old hard drive failed last year (Samsung SSD 128mb, only 2 years old)

You should stay away from using SSD drives for data storage that has regular read/write access. I have a number of WD 2TB drive that must be around 10 years old now and still going strong.
