Hello friends,

I'm very happy you're trying to keep the original MonkeyX concept in the form of CerberusX. Thank you!
I only have a few suggestions:
  • Why not more MonkeyX? It was a better name, kind, I liked it.
  • I would like to have a different logo. This is not so cute. Is there anything else to do with it?
  • The colors (website and whole concept) are too dark. The MonkeyX had the opposite. MonkeyX had compact colors, it looked very professional. I would take a bold look for it.
  • Will the color schemes also be available in the IDE? The white background is unusable for larger projects.
Thank you & good luck!

Welcome! :)

Wow you must be the very first one, beside Mark, who likes the name Monkey.

Well we can't make it right for everyone but when there was one big consensus it was that Monkey is not a name but.. Whatever...

You can select a light style in the style selection for this page. Again, some prefer light styles, some prefer dark styles, that's why we enabled the option to choose. :)

The Monkey site did look good because devolunter was so nice to create a style for it but it took ages to convince Mark to change to it. ;)

:D Yes, likely!

It's probably also a different language. For us the name "Monkey" sounds very cute  Cerberus sounds sharply.

But it's not just about it.
MonkeyX is a brand name. It's more marketing than making a new brand.
And in terms of colors. I know the variable environment is great, but marketing is better to keep compact colors as part of the brand (something like a political party).

But I will not cheat. Maybe I'm wrong. And I understand that for one (two with Mark) people you will not be able to remake everything ;)

Yes it is a brand somehow. Not protected but it belongs to M.S.! As we have some plans in the long run, these would not be possible to do with keeping the name. Adding to that, me and Martin didn't like it that much.
Also imho the name Monkey X stands now for a failed product left by its creator drop dead. Does that sound good to you?
We honor Cerberus X's past by keeping it compatible to MX and follow the license requirement that Mark had put up.

Mmmh, what did you mean by "you will not be able to remake everything"?

@zxretrosoft: Currently Cerberus is a re-branded MonkeyX with a few fixes to get it working again with updated software development kits. Nobody could do anything with it until Mark finally fully opened sourced the code. I take my hat off to Mike and Martin for keeping it alive.
Who knows where it will go in the future, maybe we could see Ogre 3D integration/target. The current Ogre 3D branch should now support Windows, OS X, Linux, Windows Phone, WinRT, Android, iOS and WebGL.

I understand, friends. I hope the project will be successful! I admit, I'm a little disturbed by the fact that it's not a commercial project, but OpenSource. Perhaps it would be better to sell it. For me (for example, I am from poorer country) the price of $ 39- $ 99 is acceptable.

I would like not only to be about games but about applications in general. I would like CerberusX to have a module with native GUI (like jQuery).

Good luck!

Thanks! :) It was made open source my Mark and so it has to stay. I don't see Cerberus as another income stream I see it as a powerful tool which I want to use to generate more income streams. :D

So yeah, feel free to donate because you're right, it's quite motivating to get some bucks here and there but mainly we want to keep things rolling.

We might add additional modules for a small fee, don't know yet. At least I have no plans to do so atm.
