• Hello everyone,

We're happy to announce that our forum is back online! We needed to take some time off to discuss and decide on how to handle sensitive topics in our community.

The team has posted an in-depth comment regarding a recent incident and our stance on politics and sexuality in our forum. We also added a dedicated paragraph about this in the forum guidelines. This is part of our commitment to maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment for all our users. Your understanding and continued support in building a creative and respectful community are highly appreciated.

    Thank you, the CX Dev-Team

As the title says, what do you think about supporting .NET v5 as a multiplatform solution when it arrives later this year?
If I understood it correctly it will support many of the interesting platforms (macOS Windows iOS and Android).

Visual Studio and Visual Studio for Mac would both hopefully be free and support these so It might be a very idea to produce a .NET v5 output option and see what it can provide?

My thoughts are, why? What would it bring to CX regarding game dev?

Besides that, with CX already spitting out C# and custom targets are a thing soon, i don't see any barrier to hold a 3rd party back on working on this.

I wanted to hear other peoples feelings about it before scratching it from the must-have list.
You know why I personally was interested of this? I would finally be able to compile Window binaries on the macOS!

The other thing would be to hopefully develop iOS games directly on Windows machines.

Great News MikeHart! That's a big step forward in the right direction.
