Jeeez, I wonder why I ever got into cross platform tool development.
I can understand why the creator of MX was tired of constantly chasing changes in the target platforms. Take OSX for an example. A new version almost means that your current app is incompatible with it and needs to be recompiled. At least. If no API has changed. And there is my dilema. If you can't afford the hardware that supports the current version of OSX, you can't can't compile it to be distributed. Or take the constant permission problems.... grrrr. I am still searching info on the net to avoid these at least.
The last OSX release.... one user reports an error that indicates that the app isn't compatible with High Sierra. One user on Twitter reports an error that it is a permission problem. So what is it? I feel I am laking severely knowledge to do this.
But the hardware problem is a big bummer. I would need a new Mac mini at least, a new Iphone and IPad. We are talking 2-3k here. Not possible for me. I have to find a different way...
On the good side.... my Android phone still works and my Windows 7 machine can compile stuff that works for our users. Adding to this I feel that concentrating on less target platforms could lead to faster enhancement in the ones you support.
What makes supporting several platforms so attractive for you guys?
And please, don't think I want to abandome stuff. I just needed to vent a little.
