My first published Cerberus X project! For the Minimalistic Jam 2, used WebGL magic along with the Box2D port and some voxel rendering code I had from other projects.

Was constrained to only 10 colors globally with only 2 colors per object. But was fun to work with those constraints and figure out how to still make it look decent.

Best run with Firefox or Safari as its HTML5 WebGL. Chrome for some reason has a slower frame rate I haven’t had time to investigate.

I’d definitely love to put some more love into this and release it as a full game/app.

Thanks! I had a lot of fun building and playing it over the week on holidays. But now I got that itch saying “Hey! You could make this better!” while trying to finish Ridiculous Rugby and Endless Wave soon after heh

Looks great nullterm! I got to play for a bit. At first the controls was a bit hard, but when I got used to it, I kinda found a strategy in beating the game easily (99.9% 3-0 win, around 30secs).

great simple game! you should definitely release this as full game. keep it up.

Yeah it definitely needs some work on the AI side to make it more fun in the long term, I just ran out of time. But I definitely see the potential so want to come back to it.

really fun! maybe speed up the guys a bit? but very fun.
Yeah I want to make it faster too. And give it a better feel and more “juice” to the experience. But still keep the simple voxel models with a colourful palette. And lighting and shadows! So many more things I wanted to cram in but it was a busy week. :D

Btw. what 3D technology/framework do you utilize in CX for this game?
The physics is Box2D as the gameplay is just 2D.

The graphics is based on a framework I built originally for MX. It basically wraps the bits that separate WebGL, OpenGL desktop, and OpenGL ES mobile. So vertex buffer, material, texture, shader, etc are all managed so I’m just writing “the game” more platform neutral, and not spending too much time on low level bits.

At some point I want to extend it to AR/VR. Maybe even WebVR and WebAR someday.
